The Glasgow Cleaning Companies Top 3 Oven Cleaners!
Unsure of what horrors await behind the brown stained glass, the very thought of getting down on our hands and knees to set about the oven is one which most of us would rather forget immediately! Even as professional cleaners who love to clean, we know that the idea of pulling open that oven door and getting down to work alone can be stressful enough for some!
The stuff of nightmares!
A big problem most face when trying to find the courage to start cleaning is simply that it’s so easy to put off. One close of the oven door and all is forgotten, for a while at least, until we inevitably have to use our oven and see the glaring mess only getting worse. Sometimes you have to roll up sleeves, get the gloves and crack on!
Before we get into our top three recommended oven cleaners we should say that if you simply cannot bring yourself to face the filth, we are here to help!
Our team of expert cleaners have been cleaning homes in Glasgow for over a decade now and adding your oven to our list of now sparkling past cleans would be a joy for us!
Oven Pride
A popular choice, the ‘Oven Pride’ oven-cleaning system includes a clear plastic rack bag, a pair of thin rubber gloves, a spongy applicator and a 500ml bottle of cleaning solution.
It should be said that the rubber gloves included are very thin and due to the grime stripping ‘Oven Pride’ being a powerful cleaner, for extra protection you may want to purchase some thicker gloves before use.
To use, first put all your oven racks in the supplied bag, pour in half of the solution and seal the bag (while expelling any air). Now grab the sponge and apply the rest of the solution to the inside of the oven, avoiding any special catalytic linings and anything made of rubber. Then you simply wait, for at least four hours, and ideally overnight. While using ‘Oven Pride’, remember to leave the oven door open, which means you’ll need to keep kids and pets away during this period.
It may seem as though the solution isn’t covering all of the oven rack but do not be tempted to shake the bag! This is strong stuff and any leakage can easily strip the finish from kitchen surfaces and cause serious burns, so please be very careful at all times.
Chemical burns and hole burning strength aside, ‘Oven Pride’ has amazing results and can clean even the dirtiest of ovens we ease. Highly recommended!
Oven Brite
If you have used Oven Pride before then there will be no surprises with Oven Brite. Enclosed you will find a bottle fume-free cleaning solution as well as bag for the oven racks. As with Oven Pride, pour half of the solution onto the oven floor and with a sponge (not included) work the solution into every nook and cranny of your oven, making sure to avoid any rubber linings which could be damaged by Oven Brite’s dirt stripping formula! After making sure you have worked the cleaner in as much as possible, simply leave overnight, before wiping clean the following morning.
As we mentioned earlier, these ‘rack bag’ style cleaning products are made up very powerful and should be treated with caution at all times. Any spillages can result in staining, the burning of work surfaces or even worse, your skin!
With a lower price tag and great results Oven Brite is a fantastic product but with Oven Pride’s fantastic reputation, it’s a tough choice.
Oven Mate Complete Deep Clean Oven Kit
Although more expensive than both Oven Pride and Oven Brite, the Oven Mate Complete Deep Clean Oven Kit is the perfect product for anyone looking to give their oven a thorough cleaning. Included you will find a 500ml bottle of oven gel, which is enough for two cleans, two scourers, fifty microwave steam clean wipes, two pairs of rubber gloves and a brush for applying the gel.
Being made with the purpose of stripping hard set grime, Oven Mate’s complete kit contains potassium hydroxide, a highly corrosive chemical which should be treated carefully at all time but with the previously scourers and gloves included there is no reason for you to come into contact with either of the solutions.
Start by removing the oven racks and place them into one of the plastic bags (from the kit, not under the sink!) and pour in the solution. Ensuring the bag is sealed properly, swill the solution around to ensure contact with as much of the racks as possible (the rest will wipe off) and let the solution work it’s magic! Next, apply the gel to the oven walls and floor, again making sure to avoid any rubber linings that could be damaged and leave for an hour or so before finally wiping away.
The results left by Oven Mate are nothing short of amazing and although at £20 the kit is around four times the price of the other products, the results speak for themselves and the additional products mean that Oven Mate is worth every pound!
